Cooking with copper
Share
Nowadays it is not common to cook with copper utensils because it is a high-priced material, but we can tell you that there are more advantages than disadvantages to cooking with this type of material. In our store you can find various objects to equip your kitchen and give a traditional flavor to your dishes.
At D'Artesano and México Mágico we fuse our passion for traditional gastronomy using our utensils made of hammered copper to cook and captivate diners.
Cynthia Martínez, an international chef with a career of more than 20 years, shared with us her passion for the typical dishes of the Purépecha Plateau of Michoacán, using our authentic artisanal pieces. On this occasion the chef delighted us with some delicious gourmet corundas, without butter, accompanied by pork in Queréndaro black chili sauce.
Some of the benefits you will get from cooking in copper are:
- Pots and pans made of this material are preferred by chefs because copper is an excellent conductor of heat and distributes heat evenly throughout the pot.
- Evenly expanding heat helps prevent food from sticking.
- Poisoning when cooking in copper pots and pans is almost impossible, since it would be covered with a greenish layer and the flavor of the food would change completely, which with other materials would change little by little and we would not be able to realize it in time.
- Copper and its bactericidal properties help the foods you prepare have better health guarantees.
- If you prepare some jam, it will have a bright color, intense flavor and thanks to its cooking it will last longer.
- If you cook vegetables in this type of material, they will retain their green color.
We share the video where you can learn its recipe.
